Your Workshop-Garage Heater

By Jerry J. Jansen On March 5, 2010 NO COMMENTS

image Why do you need a heater for your remodeled garage? The answer for this question is pretty obvious: one of the major disadvantages of using your garage as a workshop or a home office is that it wasn’t meant for that. The garage is the special place reserved for your car, the garage is the room where you keep your lawn and garden accessories.

If you start using this space for other projects that you have, you need to deal with one major inconvenience, that is warmth. During the summer you don’t have to worry too much about this but during cold  seasons you might find some difficulties in continuing your project because of the very low temperature.

You can find many ways to warm up your workshop- garage. You can try porcelain heaters; they work great and can warm up a good area but they are not meant to warm a large space for prolonged periods of time.

Another solution for you would be to use a kerosene heater. These heaters are easy to turn on, most of them have an electric starter. It should have a thermostat to be able to regulate the temperature also they have a

Benefits Of A Superior Rug Pad

By Jerry J. Jansen On March 5, 2010 NO COMMENTS

There may be many rug pads that are called Superior yet there are very few that are actually superior. A Superior rug pad will protect and prolong the life of any area rug. A Superior rug pad will protect any hard floor surface. A Superior rug pad will add comfort and insulation and a Superior rug pad will not damage any hard floor surface, including hardwood floors and all wood floors.

Superior rug pads should prolong the life of any area rug
One purpose of a quality rug pad is to protect the rug from premature wear. A solid Superior rug pad that is dense enough will do this. The density plays a role in keeping the back of an area rug from excessive rubbing and wear against a hard floor. If the rug pad is not dense enough, but rather more spongy, then the rug is not protected well enough. Here, a recycled 40 ounce felt rug pad is Superior in that the 40 ounces makes it extremely dense to protect the back of any rug.

Another purpose of a rug pad is to protect the floor. Many rugs have a rough backing

Build a Shed from Storage Shed Plans

By Jerry J. Jansen On March 4, 2010 NO COMMENTS

These basic tips will help you build a storage shed from scratch and remember, you don’t have to be an expert to make a really practical and good-looking shed.  However, you must use high-quality storage shed plans or you will most likely end up wasting lots of time and materials to make an unsatisfactory shed.

Consider, firstly, where you want to build your storage shed.  For [instance|example], if it will store your ride-on mower, there should be easy access between the shed and the lawn.  The size of the storage shed is very important, and it is wise to choose the next size up – you will [inevitably|invariably] find some big items that need to go in the shed, and that you had previously overlooked when you bought your storage shed plans!

Now you need to list the larger items to be stored in the shed, and [plan|allocate] a space for them. For [example|instance],will you need an oversize door to get that tractor in?  Will you be storing mainly small items that will need lots of shelves?  Will you need to store items like paint out of sunlight?  If you think that a small 6 x 6 ft storage shed will [suffice|be

Wind And Solar Energy: More In Common Than You Think

By Jerry J. Jansen On March 4, 2010 NO COMMENTS

Driven by the need to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and a generous Federal tax credit, solar energy and wind power have experienced explosive growth in the past few years.

In 2008 alone the grid-tied solar PV market (solar electricity) grew by 81% adding 131 megawatts to the grid.

During the same year the US market for small wind turbines, those with capacities of 100 kW and under grew 78% in 2008 with an additional 17.3 MW (megawatts) of installed capacity.

Although both solar and wind energy enjoyed spectacular growth in 2008, the number of megawatts contributed by wind installations was dwarfed by the contribution from solar.

The reason for this disparity lies in the fact that only 13% of U S households have access to sufficient wind resources to make an investment in wind power pay off.

1. Both of these alternative energy systems are at the whim of nature. Nothing kills a wind turbine’s production like the dog days of summer. For solar PV, the obstacles to peak production are outdoor temperature, cloud-cover, site elevation, and shadows from nearby objects.

2. The 30% Federal energy tax credit, which expires December 31, 2016, applies to both systems. Rebates and tax incentives from individual states could
